What is procedure to obtain IRC (Import Registration Certificate)?



Answer:
To get this registration, the following documents are usually required:


  • v Questionnaire form (Govt. publication) dully filled in and signed by the applicant.
  • v Income Tax Registration Certificate as required under Import Policy.
  • v Partnership deed in case of partnership concern, and certificate of registration with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies, Articles and Memorandum of Association in case of limited company.
  • v Nationality certificate
  • v Bank certificate
  • v Ownership documents or rent receipts of the place of business
  • v Trade license from the municipal or the local authority
  • v  Survey clearance from the relevant authority
  • v Other documents prescribed in the import policy.


On receipt of the application along with stipulated documents the C.C.I&E scrutinizes the documents and conducts physical verification and on being satisfied requests the applicant/importer to furnish the following paper along with the fees through their nominated bank:

  • v Original copy of Treasury Challan being payment of registration fees
  • v Original copy of challan for pass book
  • v Other documents if any required by the C.C.I. & E.
